THE SCHOOLCHILDREN OF THE VANADZOR PUBLIC SCHOOL N 2 VISITED THE UN OFFICE IN ARMENIA

On March 22, 2019, the Armenian Constitutional Right-Protective Centre (ACRPC) and the Vanadzor Public School N 2 organized the 25 pupils’ cognitive visit to the UN Office in Armenia, where simultaneously were hosted also the pupils of Quantum college and Yerevan School N 108.
Ms. Armineh Haladjian, the Head of the Department of the UN Global Communication Office in Armenia (UN DGC), welcomed the schoolchildren and their accompanying teachers and directors, then presented the history, structure, activities of the UN, the main achievements of the UN Office in Armenia, Sustainable Development Goals and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Getting acquainted with the UDHR articles, the pupils watched a film, tried to find the definition of each article with the help of 30 corresponding illustrated posters. Then Ms. Ofelya Suqiasyan, employee of the UN DGC, conducted an online game-quiz, contest on human rights, as a result of which the Vanadzor pupils were in the second place.
At the end of the meeting, all the children were given small souvenirs and the teachers were given informative packages with UDHR posters, booklets and other UN publications.
Mr. Hakob Mamoulyan, the director of Vanadzor Public School N 2 and Ms. Gayane Gharagyozyan, the deputy director, donated to Ms. Armineh Haladjian “My Dreamy City” (batik) work of Karine Gloyan, Director of the Vanadzor Aesthetic Center.
