 “10 MILLION SIGNING UP CAMPAIGN FOR THE PEACE ON THE KOREAN PENINSULA” INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN IS LAUNCHED IN VANADZOR CITY SQUARE, ARMENIA

Father Vahan prist Azaryan, the spiritual pastor of St. Grigor Narekatsi Church, conveyed a word of blessings and peace to the hundreds of participants. Mr. Arman Bernetsyan, the Deputy Mayor of Vanadzor greeted the participants and emphasized the high importance of peace in Korean Peninsula. Mr. Gevork Manoukian, the ACRPC Chairman, noted that the campaign corresponds with the UN  Sustainable Development Goal 16th: “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” and exhorted everyone to contribute to the establishment of peace in the Korean Peninsula and thus, throughout the world, including the borders of Armenia and Artsakh.

 

Ms. Hyun Sook Yoon, the Director of the International Women’s Peace Group, from South Korea expressed her video thankfulness to the Armenian peace activists. Then a short film about IWPG activities for peace was shown.

 

Mr. Jivan Sargsian, the famous actor and his students, recited poems of Korean poet Ko Un and Armenian poet Parouyr Sevak dedicated to peace. The children released seven symbolic doves of peace to the blue sky.

 

More than 1000 signatures were collected during the launching event and after.

 

The international campaign has been launched at the end of 2017, in Seoul and was expanded in more than 100 countries around the world (in the USA, Great Britain, Japan, China, Canada, Egypt, Iraq, etc.) and aims to convey the importance of peace in Korean Peninsula for the planet to all people.
